4th GEMS National Conference 2014

GEMS is pleased to announce that our 4th National Conference  – Evidence-based Medicine: From Papers to Public –  will take place on 25th October 2014, hosted within the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

The Conference is aimed at medical students and junior doctors who have an avid interest in academic and evidenced-based medicine (EBM).

Whilst we are still finalising the programme for the day, all talks and workshop session will revolve around introducing to delegates the world of EBM, allowing also for networking with fellow students and doctors, and providing opportunities  to present original research in a variety of fields, either in a poster format or oral presentation.

 

Cost of Attendance 

For students, attending the conference is free. We do ask to register that you provide a £10 deposit, this shall be returned in full upon attendance of the conference.

For doctors, the cost will be £10.

Lunch as well as tea and coffee shall be provided at the conference for all delegates.

Confirmed Speakers: 

Professor Matthew Walters (Head of the Undergraduate Medical School and Professor of Clinical Pharmacolgy) will be  launching the Clinical Undergraduate Research Environment in Scotland (CURES) programme, seeking to link all undergraduate medical and dental schools in Scotland, providing research links and eduction.

Professor Anna Dominiczak (Vice Principle and Head of College, and Regius Professor of Medicine) – world-leading researcher in the field of hypertension genetics.
